What this calculator tells you

Price is not a single markup decision. It has to account for what the product costs, what the marketplace takes, and the margin you need to keep operating.

Selling price = (landed cost + shipping) / (1 - target margin rate - platform fee rate).

When to use it

Use it before publishing a product, negotiating a supplier quote, or moving into a new sales channel.

Use conservative inputs

Start with your landed cost, real fee rates, and a pessimistic advertising cost. The result is more useful when the assumptions are honest.

Watch the common mistake

Adding a percentage on top of cost is markup, not margin. The two numbers are not interchangeable.

Frequently asked questions

Why can the result be higher than a simple markup?

The calculator reserves both your target margin and the platform fee. Those percentages apply to the selling price, not just the product cost.

What if the target margin plus fees exceed 100 percent?

No positive price can satisfy that combination. Reduce fees, lower the target margin, or improve the landed cost.

Should I use landed cost?

Yes, use the cost that includes freight, duties, and packaging rather than only the supplier quote.
